Optical fiber filling gel is a white translucent paste, which consists of base oil, inorganic filler, thickener, regulator, antioxidant, etc., heated in a certain proportion and homogenized in a reaction kettle , and then colloid grinding, cooling and degassing.
For outdoor optical cable, in order to prevent water and moisture from reducing the strength of the optical fiber and increasing the transmission loss which affects the communication quality, it is necessary to fill the loose tube of the optical cable with water-blocking materials such as optical fiber filling gel to achieve the effect of sealing and waterproofing, anti-stress buffering, and protecting the optical fiber. The quality of the optical fiber filling gel directly affects the stability of the optical fiber transmission performance and the life of optical cable.
