Mica Tape

Mica tape, also known as refractory mica tape, is made of mica tape machine and is a refractory insulation material. According to the use, it can be divided into mica tape for motors and mica tape for cables. According to the structure, it can be divided into double-sided mica tape, single-sided mica tape, three-in-one tape, double-film mica tape, single-film tape, etc. According to the mica category, it can be divided into synthetic mica tape, phlogopite mica tape, muscovite mica tape.

Brief Introduction

Normal temperature performance: synthetic mica tape is the best, muscovite mica tape is second, phlogopite mica tape is inferior.
High-temperature insulation performance: synthetic mica tape is the best, phlogopite mica tape is second, muscovite mica tape is inferior.
High-temperature resistant performance: synthetic mica tape without crystal water, melting point 1375℃, large safety margin, best high-temperature performance. Phlogopite mica tape releases crystal water above 800℃, high-temperature resistance is second. Muscovite mica tape releases crystal water at 600℃, which has poor high-temperature resistance. Its performance is also attributed to the compounding degree of the mica tape machine.

Fire-resistant Cable

Mica tape for fire-resistant safety cables is a high-performance mica insulating product with excellent high temperature resistance and combustion resistance. Mica tape has good flexibility under normal conditions and is suitable for the main fire-resistant insulation layer of various fire-resistant cables. There is no volatilization of harmful smoke when exposed to an open flame, so this product for cables is not only effective but also safe.

Synthesis Mica Tape

Synthetic mica is an artificial mica with a large size and complete crystal form synthesized under normal pressure conditions by replacing the hydroxyl groups with fluoride ions. The synthetic mica tape is made of mica paper as the main material, and then the glass cloth is pasted on one or both sides with an adhesive and is made by a mica tape machine. The glass cloth pasted on one side of the mica paper is called “single-sided tape”, and the one that is pasted on both sides is called “double-sided tape”.During the manufacturing process, several structural layers are glued together, then oven-dried, wound up, and cut into tapes of different specifications.

The synthetic mica tape

Synthetic mica tape has the characteristics of small expansion coefficient, high dielectric strength, high resistivity, and uniform dielectric constant of natural mica tape. Its main characteristic is the high heat resistance level, which can reach the A-level fire resistance level(950一1000℃.

The temperature resistance of synthetic mica tape is more than 1000℃, the thickness range is 0.08~0.15mm, and the maximum supply width is 920mm.

A.Three-in-one synthetic mica tape: It is made of fiberglass cloth and polyester film on both sides, with synthetic mica paper in the middle. It is an insulation tape material, which uses amine borane-epoxy resin as adhesive, through bonding, baking, and cutting to produce.
B.Double-sided synthetic mica tape: Taking synthetic mica paper as the base material, using fiberglass cloth as double-sided reinforcing material, and bonding with silicone resin adhesive. It is the most ideal material for manufacturing fire-resistant wire and cable. It has the best fire resistance and is recommended for key projects.
C.Single-sided synthetic mica tape: Taking synthetic mica paper as the base material and fiberglass cloth as the single-sided reinforcing material. It is the most ideal material for manufacturing fire-resistant wires and cables. It has good fire resistance and is recommended for key projects.

Phlogopite Mica Tape

Phlogopite mica tape has good fire resistance, acid and alkali resistance, anti-corona, anti-radiation properties, and has good flexibility and tensile strength, suitable for high-speed winding. The fire resistance test shows that the wire and cable wrapped with phlogopite mica tape can guarantee no breakdown for 90min under the condition of temperature 840℃ and voltage 1000V.

Phlogopite fiberglass refractory tape is widely used in high-rise buildings, subways, large-scale power stations, and important industrial and mining enterprises where fire safety and life-saving are related, such as power supply lines and control lines for emergency facilities such as fire-fighting equipment and emergency guide lights. Because of its low price, it is the preferred material for fire-resistant cables.

A.Double-sided phlogopite mica tape: Taking phlogopite mica paper as the base material and fiberglass cloth as double-sided reinforcing material, it is mainly used as a fire-resistant insulating layer between the core wire and the outer skin of a fire-resistant cable. It has the good fire resistance and is recommended for general projects.

B.Single-sided phlogopite mica tape: Taking phlogopite mica paper as the base material and fiberglass cloth as the single-sided reinforcing material, it is mainly used as a fire-resistant insulating layer for fire-resistant cables. It has the good fire resistance and is recommended for general projects.

C.Three-in-one phlogopite mica tape: Taking phlogopite mica paper as the base material, fiberglass cloth and carbon-free film as single-sided reinforcing materials, mainly used for fire-resistant cables as a fire-resistant insulation layer. It has the good fire resistance and is recommended for general projects.

D.Double-film phlogopite mica tape: Taking phlogopite mica paper as the base material and plastic film as the double-sided reinforcement material, it is mainly used for the electrical insulation layer. With poor fire resistance, fire-resistant cables are strictly prohibited.
E.Single-film phlogopite mica tape: Taking phlogopite mica paper as the base material and plastic film as single-sided reinforcement material, it is mainly used for the electrical insulation layer. With poor fire resistance, fire-resistant cables are strictly prohibited.
